In concrete products in general and in those placed underground or in the vicinity of aquifers, in particular a constructive detail, moreover indispensable, such as the formwork spacers consisting of PVC tubulars, usually about 21 mm in diameter internal, constitutes a dangerous element of discontinuity, permeation and infiltration.
In fact, the water finds inside the tubular elements (even in the presence of the usual closure plugs) an easy way of access and infiltration capable of seriously affecting the hermetic seal of the product.
The particular characteristics of the Azichem hydro-expansive rubbers allow to extend the protection to this real constructive “Achilles heel”, through water-tight devices that are easy to make and economically advantageous, consisting of organically functional systems: the CORKSEAL T21 hydro-expansive plug, used to permanently plug the holes caused by the PVC spacers.

 

 

CORKSEAL

CORKSEAL are special hermetic sealing devices for tubular formwork spacers, consisting of a rigid polyamide plastic core and a corrugated cap in hydro-expansive rubber. The hydro-expansive cap of CORKSEAL is intended to guarantee the hermetic sealing of the inside of the tubular spacer. It is fitted into the hole produced by the tubular spacer, by simple striking. CORKSEAL caps are available in different diameter sizes: CORKSEAL T21 = 21 mm; CORKSEAL T24 = 24 mm; CORKSEAL T26 = 26 mm; CORKSEAL T32 = 32 mm; CORKSEAL T34 = 34 mm.
